Writing is many things to many people. To me, it is a spiritual path. When I write for kids, I write what most tickles me. I write with a sense of gratitude to my family and friends, the stars, the moon, the sky, the sea, the earth beneath our feet, and the abundant universe. Filipino history, music, traditions, and my own family experiences also spark my imagination. These days, when I write for adults I find myself exploring compassion, women's spirituality, Catholic mysticism, ancient Philippine religions, the Tao, and the teachings of Buddha and Jesus. I also dig sci-fi and stories that push the boundaries of myth and historical fiction. *wink*
I am inspired by writers and artists who breathe their own spirit
into their works, who are conscientious about historical and cultural accuracy in their
art, and who, above all, have fun tumbling past the stars with their imaginations.
